Our Academy was established as a teaching unit of the Higher School of Administration in Bielsko-Biała. Its activities were supervised by the rector of the university, professor zw. dr hab. Wieslawa Korzeniowska.
The Academy was established in the European Year of Active Aging and Solidarity between Generations. In line with the long-term tradition of the Universities of the Third Age, we met the expectations of seniors in Bielsko-Biała and the surrounding area.
Since December 4, 2013, we have been an independent non-profit entity:
SENIOR ACADEMY ASSOCIATION
The aim of our Academy is broadly understood activation of the elderly, the use of their great potential: knowledge, skills and life experience. The task of the Senior Academy is to develop the intellectual, physical and cultural fitness of seniors, as well as to build interpersonal ties, including intergenerational ones, integrating the environment of older people, regardless of age and education.
